About Chris Graham

Chris Graham studied a modular Arts & Design degree course at the University of Sunderland, specialising in Kiln-formed Glass, Printmaking & Ceramics, and was awarded a B.A.(Hons.) degree in 2001.

" I went back to University as a 'mature' student and it was wonderful! I was challenged to develop my ideas as an artist. Exploring new media, including kiln-formed glass, was exciting and I've always enjoyed experimenting!"

Chris Graham has over 20 years experience making kiln formed glass and worked as a Lecturer in Fine Art and Graphic Design at local sixth form colleges from 2001 - 20012.

"Working part time allowed me to develop my professional art practice and I curated a number of solo and joint exhibitions e.g. at Darlington and Helmsley Arts Centres, The Georgian Theatre Royal at Richmond, and the Gallery at Saltburn Artists' Studios."

"I'm lucky to have my own studio in such a beautiful part of Yorkshire, between the coast and the moors. Before covid I ran workshops. I enjoy showing people new skills and seeing how creative they can be given the confidence to develop their ideas in a new medium. They're always amazed when they see how beautiful their glass looks. Be warned - once you try it you're hooked!"

Chris Graham sells her work at Whitby Art Cafe, Blandscliff Gallery at Scarborough,  with Brigantia Artists, and accepts commissions.
